About Monsal Hill Climb

First run in 1930, Monsal Hill Climb has been on the hill climb calendar for an amazing 93 years. This event was started by a few mates riding out to Monsal Head at the end of the track season and timing each other up the hill, at this time it was an unmade road. The event now attracts over 200 local riders from club level to seasoned professionals. 2009 was the first running of the event on a closed road. 2019 saw a record entry of 234 riders!!!

Memories of the 96th @veloviewer Monsal Hill Climb

Memories of the 96th @veloviewer Monsal Hill Climb. Some will never forget, others will choose to forget the pain the climb inflicts on the body.

What a day. 2nd largest entry, the best support we’ve ever had and the weather was superb. A huge well done to all the riders but chapeau to @therachelgshow & @gabe_dellar for claiming the top spots.

A massive thank you to Ben and the team at VeloViewer, and to our new partners Tactic and Print My Ride. We’re also incredibly grateful to Trek Bramall, Flycarb, Midpack Art, Peak Tri Store, Skyhook
Coaching, Simon Warren from 100 Climbs and Blue Strawberry Elephant for supporting this year’s
event. Without the support of all these organisations and individuals, the event simply wouldn’t be possible. #monsalhillclimb

How cool is this artwork! 🖼️ We really love the details captured by @midpackrider including @100climbs and @veloviewer . The “mid pack” rider, 50% down the field will take home this awesome print of Monsal.
